My young man’s life Was in its twenty-fifth year And I was in love And not with just any young woman But a rose amongst the thorns Or so I thought It’s a tough lesson learned That love won’t come easy It don’t come easy Sure ain’t free Now my young man’s love Ain’t half what I hope it to be When I grow up Still, who was she not to go with me And who was I to call her bluff? It’s my fool pride, the thorn in my side That love won’t come easy I’m going crazy to eat humble pie Welcome, my son, to manhood Strange women so indifferent To your spilled guts Don’t look for sympathy It’s tough all over the city It’s tough all over the world Does anybody care at all? Now love at first sight So naïve to believe her to be Who you want her to be And like a bull in a china shop I realize I got no timing No social graces I’m losing face And my poor heart is aching My heart is breaking Heartbroken again And my young man’s blues Are getting the better of me And I gotta let go Cause it never did work out Between me And the woman of my sweet dreams Still I believe God has His reasons True love won’t come easy Soon spring will come In due season In due season Life is a journey A tossing and turning sea To find the compass and the port Time marches on Thank God I’m still singing songs Where would I be Where I be without You, Lord? Now a young man’s life Is a stormy, sordid affair He needs real love So don’t feed his fleshly lust Just to appease the real libido O, don’t corrupt his heart of hearts His child-mind’s a yo-yo Always up and down Always on the go-go Welcome, my son, to manhood You fight your private wars But will it do you any good? Don’t look for symphony It’s every man for himself It’s why this world is going to hell And I don’t care what they say Since the Rebellion it’s been all downhill Jesus said it would turn out this way Does anybody care? Does anybody care? Does anybody care? Does anybody care? Does anybody care at all? Do you care? Are you there? Welcome, my son, to manhood You’re not a child anymore … No!

Look out your windows, babies Breathe in the air Life is everywhere Now take a deep breath And mind the gap Observe your step most carefully These days we’re living on the edge Now open your eyes, babies Look if you dare The rich man sleeping On the poor man’s back Proletariat, no time to see Too busy doing the treadmill Playing the lottery The living end. Riding the tide Blind leading the blind This critical hour Haunted in the house of lies Modern man not as wise as he’d like to believe Open your mind, baby What will you see Hallucination or reality? You’d better stay real Better not betray yourself unto yourself Prepare to meet thy Maker The night is on its way Biding the time Blind leading the blind This critical hour Haunted in the house of lies Modern man none the wiser Taught himself to sacrifice everything For security Peace and security Some security O ye of little faith …

Children of war, why were you born To play here in vain or to weather the storm? To live for the cause, trace its course Follow its worth to the ends of the earth He steals away in a stolen car He feels betrayed his world gone to pot No time to play games when all is said and done The bane of his generation on the run On the run On the run One pilgrim lost in the wilderness Following whatever trend to make the best of it Just children, crossed in the politics Promising one dark day to wreak revenge on them A lonely growing pain that grows in jaded gains In fast-fading hopes When he hit the street where the cold blood flows The essence of war’s young seed is sown Seed is sown The seed is sown O, children of war, why were we born? In a gathering storm that envelopes us all Masters of war, panic-stricken cur A trapdoor that leads to the end of the world The end of the world The end of the world In sin city Crucified in sin city Crucified in sin city He paid for the gun with his flesh and blood Passed by without love for the essence of war The essence of war The essence of war in sin city Crucified in sin city …

Dawn breaks o’er the waking city Sands of time grind along Cold and bleak, baby No time for pity Take refuge in a song Time waits for no one So many fallen by the way Life takes you for a ride son Unwise and unkind, and all must die Sure as night overtakes day Yet deep in that nether region No man alive can conceive I have a dream That the doom and the gloom Is not what it seems So don’t be shedding tears For time’s fallen heroes Stark is the maze within the naked city Your life expectancy’s in question indeed Dark and grey, baby, no, no time for pity Don’t be afraid for that day of our passing away Our long-time-coming fate Deep in that nether region No man alive can conceive I have a dream That the doom and the gloom Is not what it seems O, don’t be shedding tears For time’s fallen heroes Awake Soon the Judgment Day be upon us To make us answer for our crimes Reveal the pain of ages And redeem the dark disgraces We are on God’s eyes Deep in that nether region No man alive can conceive Have no fear for time’s fallen heroes A far better place may they be Deep in the nether reaches No man alive can conceive, no Have no fears for time’s fallen heroes A far, far, far better place may they be So baby, don’t you grieve …

Peace, Peace 10:26
Back in the 60s A pagan Woodstock nation Sung of peace and love Protested all authority Now we’re older, none the wiser Still playing with fire Riots and the Middle East Songs and signs and slogans In demonstration Indignation to this insanity We can destroy the world ten times over We have enough weaponry To put the species under Will we escape the cruel fate That lies in wait around the corner We’re hovering on the border Of death and life Of day and night What is love, what is peace? Is everyone united On exactly what they’re hoping to achieve Do we really want to live Or just survive Can we in and of ourselves Tow the lifeline Can we achieve a lasting peace? Can we attain true salvation? Salvation in the name of man In the name of woman Some say “yes” Others “no,” adamantly As for me I’ll tell you truthfully No apologies I’m sorry I don’t believe we can, no But I do believe in the Prince of Peace Jesus Christ Sure we’ve all heard of Him He just won’t go away it would seem Cannot deny that He lived And was crucified And that He rose again from the dead And in a very real way He is alive He survived the sting of death Yes He did, my friend Do you believe that Jesus rose from the grave? Cause if He did That changes everything Jesus said that He alone Was the Way and the Truth and the Life That the path to life was narrow But the road to destruction is wide What will you do with Him Who sacrificed Himself that you might live? ‘Cause Jesus claimed to be Almighty God Yet for this reason was He put to death Greater love has no one than this Than to lay down their life for a friend Greater love has no one than this Than to lay down their life for a friend Then He said, you are my friends Jesus said, you are my friends If you do whatsoever I have commanded you This commandment I give you That you love one another just as I have loved you This commandment I give you That you love one another just as I have loved you Talkin’ ‘bout love, love, love, love, love Unconditional love, love, love, love, love Jesus is, God is love, love, love, love, love Real unselfish love, love, love, love Hear me sisters and brothers Take a real close look at how we treat each other In our own backyards The walls are up, the lines are down And superficiality abounds And truth is stranger than fiction And peace Oh peace is just a word we use like love We take it in vain Just like the name of God’s only begotten Son Jesus Christ Almighty Behold, memorials eulogizing soldiers Killed on not-so-distant shores For the sake of freedom In the name of peace In the war to end all wars Yet as we speak, this very hour Young people are being blown away In anonymity Cool, relentlessly Their young blood cries out from the grave There was a young Man once Who shed His precious blood To win the war to end all wars Now He’s seated at the right hand of His Father High in heaven and is soon to return here I’m His ambassador Sent to declare to you His peace that passeth understanding Peace in your heart, peace of mind That can only start Once you’re reconciled to your Creator Prepare to meet thy Maker.

Time Bomb 02:42
It’s late in the day, the night is on its way A storm is rolling in and it might just be the end Yes, a sad song plays in a world so far astray It’s counting down the hour Of a once-sweet dream gone sour Reason, where have you been hiding lately? Treason, and misuse of the power insanely Let a time bomb tick away. It’s late in the day, the time bomb ticks away Violence lights the fuse, conspirators tighten the noose An endless road awaits, the world’s a powder keg Can calamity resolve the question asked within us all Reason, where have you been hiding lately? Treason, and misuse of the power insanely Freedom, where have you been hiding lately? Treason and misuse of the power insanely Let a time bomb tick away …

Deadline 05:23
Rocking down that busy street The wide, ignoble path beneath our feet Seek and you can find The dark and savage breaches of mankind Knock on any door The silent cries The grim visage of war. Freedom on the run The underhanded hand that fires the gun Untruth on the loose The wolf in shepherd’s clothing flaunts the noose Knock on any door War clouds loom A deadline drawing forth. Deadline Deadline Deadline Deadline … deadline Storm before the calm We’re the battlefield in the war of right and wrong Dark horizon seen The bubble’s burst so wake up from your dream Knock on any door The rising tide The deadline drawing forth Knock on any door Ask anyone who cares Everyone Everywhere Be aware …

Last Call 08:48
King of heaven Benevolent dictator Sovereign majesty Ruler of all nature How long, how long Before You take us home? Your voice resounds throughout the earth: “Whosoever will, let them come.” Last call To drink of the water of life Last call Translated from darkness to light Last call To flee the wrath to come To escape the coming flood To negate the wages of sin, death and hell Last call To praise the Holy One To embrace the dear Son Whose shed blood paid up for us all Last call Last call He’s breaking the chains that have held us back Awakening our hearts and minds To understand the times The Lord does nothing unless He reveals His secrets to His servants the prophets False prophets, apostates, and heretics All tickling itching ears with what they want to hear But the Lord says, “Many will come in My name saying, ‘I am he,’ but beware of wolves in sheep’s clothing” Oh, a warning is sounding Yet there seems a lull The Father is calling, “Last call” Woe ye, who dwell upon the earth The devil has gone down in raging anger Hell-bent on pursuing His doomed lost cause renewing His hatred for Christ and the saints A mortally wounded evil beast The world is deceived by a ruthless enemy Imposing his satanic agenda strategy Incantations, abominations in Mystery Babylon Sacrifices of human life incur the wrath of God When the Son of Man returns Will He find faith upon the earth? So He’s praying for you, my friend That your faith be strong He’s waiting, you’re waiting But don’t wait too long, no Go ye into all your world And make disciples from every nation Creation travailing in birth pangs The nations are raging Against the King of kings The Lord laughs from heaven “I have already established my King in Zion” His only-begotten Son Like a thief in the night He’ll come In fervent righteousness to judge Each of us according to our deeds And be not deceived God is not mocked and we shall reap What we have sown Eternal life, joy, and peace Or everlasting contempt and agony He’s breaking the chains that have held us back Awakening our hearts and minds To understand the times Surely the Lord does nothing unless He reveals His secrets to His servants the prophets The prophets of God singing Last call The Father is calling Last call ...

This very day One hour closer to all eternity There’s many shades of grey Now taking sides for their paternity leave We’re being pushed off of the fence The house of cards is tumbling down And it’s a loaded deck Where are you now in this cruel world? Are you part of the machine that’s breaking down? There’s too many being burned Come join the ranks of the redeemed And give the Lord a chance Then you’ll know what I mean It’s a scary day Storm clouds gathering with certainty Thus many led astray Down the garden paths of heresy And I remember you in school You were cool, were no one’s fool Said you would not be used But where are you now in this cruel world? Are you part of the machine that’s breaking down? There’s too many being hurt Come join the ranks of the redeemed And give the Lord a chance Then you’ll know what I mean Don’t reject Him if you’ve never met Him Though He is not far from every one of us Who do you say this Jesus really is? He is the Messiah The Son of the Living God And history is culminating at His second coming Where will He find you when He does? These last days A valley of decision For multitudes of lost humanity The last of the last generation? A front-row seat for the grand finale? And I remember you in school You were cool, you were nobody’s fool Insisted you would not be used But where are you now, in this cruel world? Are you part of the machine that’s breaking down? There’s too many being burned Come join the ranks of the redeemed Where are you now, in this cruel world? Are you part of the machine that’s breaking down? There’s too many being hurt Come join the ranks of the redeemed And give the Lord a chance Behold the scars on His hands In Him we get a second chance This is the ultimatum: Repent, believe!

Home 02:54
Hey, where are you today? Where will you go from here? Two roads before you, The end ever near Babe, such a painful smile There’s such a cry in your eyes They give you away You’re unhappy in your life But baby, I’ll make you a shelter from the storm And baby, please take My hand and I’ll lead you home Take my hand and follow Me home Come follow Me home Child, such a sight to behold Lost in the dark and the cold You’re more precious than fine gold And baby, I’ll make you a shelter from the storm And baby, please take My hand and I’ll lead you home Take My hand, I’ll lead you home Take My hand, follow Me home Come follow Me home Follow Me home You’re coming home We’re going home …

about

2005 seanosongs
Graphic design: Jason Armstrong
Photography: Jeff McCrea
Remixed 2016, Kitchener, ON
Remastered May-June 2020, The Cave, Vancouver, BC

In congruence with its cover art, "Interlude" is an apocalyptic exploration of the sum of all fears amidst the age of grace we presently occupy.

The album was completed over the summer of 2005. The final product left me increasingly dissatisfied; thus there have been major surgeries to the original tracks/mix/master, including the recovery of tracks from 1985 finessed into the current recordings. Every song on "Interlude" has now been remixed and remastered.
